Extended Area Service (EAS) and Extended Community Calling (ECC)

Extended Area Service (EAS) Baldwin, Woodville and Hammond subscribers may dial each other direct without toll charges. To call from one exchange to another, dial all sever digits of the party you wish to call.
EAS is your local calling area. Calls placed to communities within your EAS are included in your local telephone charges (not toll charges) and require dialing only the 10-digit telephone number. Baldwin (684, 688 and Verizon Wireless 928), Woodville (698) and Hammond (796 and Verizion Wireless 977) customers can call from one exchange to another without paying toll charges.

Extended Community Calling (ECC) ECC is a calling plan that allows customers to call people in adjacent telephone exchanges as well as people within 15 miles, even if the exchanges are not adjacent, without paying normal long distance charges. In addition, ECC calls require dialing only the 10-digit telephone number.
ECC was create by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. It allows customers to call schools, government offices, medical facilities and other areas of local interest without paying the normal long distance charges. Now these calls are considered to be local and cost $.05 per minute.
ECC calls are bulk billed on your phone bill showing total minutes used at $.05 per minute. You can receive an itemized billing of your ECC calls by calling our business office at 715.684.3346. There is a $3 per month charge for itemized billing.
